The first 100 5K participants to cross the finish line will also win a guaranteed a seat to the Chris Evans Panel at Salt Lake Comic Con, Saturday September 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.
This is an exclusive event for which tickets are in high demand. Outside of this opportunity, the seats are only available by entering into a lottery system. So, our top 100 5K runners are already winners and will get to see and hear Chris Evans in person. (You know, the guy known for the Avengers series, Captain America series, and more…)
More information about the Chris Evans panel can be found here:
How to get in to the Chris Evans Panel

Route maps can be found here:
The route will turn onto 200 west and continue through the tunnel behind the Salt Palace- otherwise known as The Bat Cave!
There will be water stations along the route.
Bathrooms will be available in the salt palace near the start/finish line.
Major Safety Details:
The Salt Lake Police Department (Commissioner Gordon?) will be overseeing the road closure and route. Officers and volunteers will be stationed along the way.
Be aware that Trax will be running, and at one point the 5K route crosses the Trax line. While situations like this are unavoidable for superheroes in the big city, the risk of delay is short and minimal.
At South Temple, where the course crosses the TRAX line, race participants must obey SLCPD and stop if instructed to by police. A few key safety reminders:
Look both ways before crossing
Never cut off a train
Never Run down the Trax line
Award Presentations and Refreshments
We are excited to have Matt Gephardt from KUTV back with us as our MC this year. Awards will be presented at the MC Booth near the start/finish line where the winners will be announced by 9:00 a.m. Bottled water and granola bars will be provided after the run courtesy of LDS Hospital.
The Utah Superhero Run was started to raise awareness for Specialty Hospital of Utah (formerly South Davis Community Hospital) by honoring everyday heroes. Specialty Hospital of Utah offers an expertise in respiratory therapy and complex in-patient rehabilitation for patients of all ages. In 2014 the hospital was one of six centers nationally recognized for excellence by the American Health Care Association with top honors.
All proceeds from the Utah Superhero Run will benefit Love. Wish. Build. a capital fundraising campaign to build a new and greatly needed Specialty Hospital of Utah to replace an aging infrastructure. As an entirely non-profit organization the Hospital must raise a significant portion of the funds required for new construction.
